July 31

Tired again :-/ Went home this morning and couldn't sleep, so TH and I went through the sale ads and looked at some coupons and stuff. We get paid tomorrow and since we get paid every 2 weeks, twice a year we'll get 3 paychecks in a month. So it's kinda extra money. Sort of. This paycheck is one of those "extras" so we're going to get caught up on a couple of things and try to catch some good sales to stock up on stuff. Toilet paper, paper towels, meat...basically it would be nice to have plenty of stuff to cook and only have to go buy things like milk and bread and shit every week for a while.

We're going to go ahead and get school clothes for TK, too. School starts back August 26th. He has to wear a uniform (even though it's a public school) - black or khaki pants and a green, white, or black polo shirt. The color varies by grade level. Last year was white. That sucked :-/ This year (8th grade) is black. Yay! We'll probably get several pair of pants, several shirts, socks, underwear, and shoes. I think we have almost all of the school supply type things that he's going to need. Last year we bought him a nice Swiss Gear backpack and it's still in awesome shape. So that helps! TH and I need shoes, too. So we probably won't end up saving very much of this paycheck but we'll be able to get a bunch of stuff that we need.

July 30

Kinda tired tonight. I went home this morning and cleaned up the kitchen and straightened up a few things. TK was still up so I played some zombies with him for a while. TH got up and I hung out with him for a little bit then tried to go to sleep but I couldn't so I got up and stayed up for a while. I think I made it to bed around 11:00. Got up kinda early and played with TK til TH got home then made porkchops, veggies, cornbread, and okra for dinner. Nom :-) Now I'm at work. Sigh. If I can go to bed early enough tomorrow we'll probably try to go swimming. Time Warner is supposed to come out and look at the modem and stuff tomorrow but it's weird - the internet randomly started working last night. We'll still probably get them to check everything out though, just to make sure.

I HAVE EYEBALLS!!!! I can see, I can see!!! Ahem :-) So we went to the eye doctor this morning, and we all got eye exams. TH got a new pair of glasses with those Transitions lenses (the ones that darken when you go outside) so he won't need sunglasses anymore. Mostly he needs them for when he's at work because he's in and out of the building in the sunlight. TK, it turns out, still has perfect fucking vision. Lucky little shit, lol. I decided to keep my old glasses - they're a little scratched up but not too bad, and apparently my prescription hasn't changed any. But I got contacts again! I'm so happy! And this time I went ahead and bought a year's supply so I won't run out and forget to get more. They were like $35 a box (eek!) but with a year's supply the eye doctor took off $5 per box, then there is a $35 mail-in rebate from the manufacturer, so I ended up saving $75. Sweet :-)

While we were there TH's boss called and wanted to know if he could come in to work early because somebody got sick. Sigh. He's supposed to go in at 2:30 and he went in at 11:30. So yay, overtime? We went home and I played some zombies with TK before I went to bed. We played a little Black Ops zombies - I forgot how much harder it is than Black Ops 2! You can't change the difficulty :-/ I went to bed around 2:00 and got up about 7:30 when TH got home. I'm a little tired, but not too bad. I has caffeine :-)

July 28

Sunday night again. Sigh. I got here tonight and the automatic gate that the residents are supposed to use is all fucked up and isn't recognizing the remote openers. We can still open it with the switch that we have on the podium outside but they can't open it by themselves. So there are cones and shit set up to try to make people slow down enough for us to open it instead of them just flying through here like they usually do. Kind of a pain in the ass :-/

So Friday I stopped at Randall's on the way home and got most of what we needed. Stayed up and played with TK, then hung out with TH until almost time for him to go to work. We decided to try going swimming early instead of waiting until 4:00 or 5:00 like we usually do. Man, was that a mistake! We got there a little before 1:00 and apparently that is when all of the little rec center summer camp kids go swimming. There were minimally supervised snot nosed little shits everywhere :-/ We didn't stay very long. We left there and went over to this big empty parking lot where the high school football stadium is and I let TK practice driving a little bit. It was cool :-) Stopped by HEB and picked up a few things, then went home and played a couple of games of zombies. We took a nap and TH woke us up when he got home. Shortly after he got home we had a hell of a thunderstorm, with lots of lightning. Kinda freaky. Hung out with him then stayed up for a while playing Minecraft and stuff with TK. We started on a hospital in our little city!

July 25

Sigh. So I went home this morning and wasn't sleepy. TK was still awake, which actually worked out ok because he needed to get up early for his dentist appointment. He showered and got ready then we played zombies until it was time for them to go. I went to bed and tried to go to sleep but I just couldn't :-/ I was still awake when they got home so I got up for a while. I ended up going to bed around 11:30, and I actually got up to go swimming but everyone was asleep so I went back to bed. TH had done some yardwork so he was crashed out in the game room, lol.

So TK had an exam and a set of X-rays, but they didn't have time for a cleaning or anything else. He did have 2 cavities so we need to make an appointment for the cleaning and fillings. I'm kinda surprised that was all because he is horrible about remembering to brush his teeth! They had a coupon on their website for an exam, X-rays, and a cleaning for $29 but it said new adult patients only. We decided to go ahead and see if we could use it, thinking maybe it just meant you couldn't use it for like, little kids. They let us use it! I guess for all practical purposes there's not that much difference in a teenager's mouth and an adult's? So that was cool :-)

July 24

Well, today just kinda sucked. Everyone was asleep when I got home so I tried to go to bed early. It didn't work :-/ One of the neighbors started running the lawnmower, which set off those fucking dogs behind us, and that went on for like an hour and a half. So I gave up. Got up and hung out with TH for a while and eventually was able to go to bed. Woke up kinda feeling like dog shit, and nobody else was really terribly interested in going swimming so I just went back to bed. Fuck it. I still feel kinda crappy. Dunno why :-/

TH took my cash to the bank and stopped at HEB for a few things. TK has a dentist appointment early tomorrow morning so TH is taking him to that. I...don't do dentists unless I absolutely have to. If I can manage to get some sleep we'll probably try again tomorrow afternoon to go swimming. Sigh. Seems like this has been a long-ass week for some reason. I'm definitely ready for the weekend.

So once again TK was awake when I got home, so I played a game of zombies with him and hung out with TH for a little while. I actually went to bed kinda early and set an alarm to get up and go swimming, but when I woke up TK was asleep. I kinda poked him and asked if he wanted to go swimming or sleep and he chose sleep. So I went back to bed. Sigh. Maybe tomorrow? Got up when TH got home and messed with him until it was time to come to work. TH woke TK up when he got home so hopefully he'll be tired tonight and be able to sleep. Dunno.

Best thing: So two of my favorite residents came through earlier tonight. They're always super nice, and sometimes they'll give me a couple of dollars because they say I'm always super friendly and shit and make them smile. Basically a tip, I guess. So they stopped and chatted for a while and as they were leaving they handed me...$100. Holy fuckballs!!! They wubs me :-)

Worst thing: I was almost late to work because I got stuck in road construction shit. And it wasn't even the work crews, it was the other fucktard drivers waiting til the last minute to try to squeeze into the one lane that was still open. Dumbasses >:-(

July 22

Well, crap. No swimming today. TK was still awake when I got home so I ended up playing zombies with him for a while. TH woke up and TK went to bed so I hung out with TH, made some breakfast tacos, and didn't get to bed until almost noon. Sigh. Slept til about 8:00 and now I'm at work again. Eh. I told them that I don't care who gets in the way in the morning - I'm going home and going to bed early because I want to go fucking swimming! So there.

I put a package of chicken thighs in the crockpot this morning and they cooked all day on low. When we went to pull them out they just fell apart so the bones were super easy to remove. I had cut the skin off before I cooked them so I didn't have to mess with it afterwards. We ended up with just over 2 1/2 pounds of shredded chicken and I think the package was just over 3 pounds. So we only lost like 1/2 a pound to waste. That's not bad! The thighs were only $1 per pound, too. Definitely a good deal. And there's so much you can do with chicken to keep it from getting boring. I wubs my crockpot :-)

July 21

Sunday night again already. Man, the weekends are just way too short :-/ Didn't really do much either so I guess that didn't help. Friday I stopped at Randall's on the way home to get some of the shredded cheese that is on sale. Bought some grapes too, and discovered that they mark their gallons of milk down half price when they start getting close to the expiration date. Score! Went home and hung out with TH for a while, then took a nap because TK was still asleep. Got up and went to HEB for a few things then went home and played some Minecraft and zombies. Made veggie burgers and fries for dinner when TH got home then hung out with him til he went to bed.

Saturday I slept off and on most of the day, but never slept very well. Got up and did some cleaning and started the laundry and played with TK til time for TH to get home. I had bought some seasoned chicken thighs and leg quarters and put them in the crockpot Friday afternoon so we had chicken fajita nachos for movie night. We watched Bubba Ho-Tep, and while it wasn't exactly what I expected, it wasn't bad. I kinda thought it would be a low budget cheesy zombie film. It was entertaining, at least. Hung out with TH til he went to bed, then played some Black Ops 2 multiplayer and a little Minecraft with TK. We added a blacksmith shop and a mob fighting arena to our little city. It's looking really good! Went to bed around 4 am.

July 18

Thursday night! Not terribly busy for some reason either, which is a nice change. So my boss was late this morning, again. He got here at about 6:45 which meant that I ran into a lot more traffic on the way home than I normally do. I hate traffic :-/ He did give me $10 though so that helped. I stopped on the way home and got a couple of beers since I had nothing to drink at the house. I had kinda planned on going to bed pretty early but by the time I finally got home I was awake. TH got up and I hung out with him and stayed up way too late so I decided to skip the swimming. TH and TK went by themselves! They totally need to do more stuff together. They also went to Sam's and picked up a few things. This paycheck is going to be tight again, which sucks. We still need a few things from HEB but I'll have to try not to spend much. We probably won't be doing pizza until after next payday, either. Sigh. So right now I'm thinking go home tomorrow and take a nap, then go swimming and go to HEB. We'll see.

July 17

Another quiet day. It started raining this morning at about 5 am and rained on me most of the way home. TK was still up when I got home (again) so I played a few games of zombies with him. Hung out with TH for a while then went to bed. We didn't go swimming because it ended up raining most of the afternoon. TH made dinner - some kind of chicken and rice thing. I added a few veggies to mine :-) I think there's only like a 10% chance of rain tomorrow so I have an alarm set to get up so we can go swimming. Yay! Then TK and I will probably go again Friday. We get paid tomorrow and we need to go to the store because we're out of freaking everything. I think TH is going to go to Sam's tomorrow while I'm asleep. TK and I will probably go to HEB Friday. Or something. I haven't talked to the neighbor so I don't know if she's going to be able to hang out this week. I know she's got something going on with her oldest son though so she might be busy with that for a while. Sigh.

Not much going on again today. Went home this morning and TK was still awake, again. We played a few games of zombies then he went to bed. I hung out with TH for a while then I went to bed. Got up around 6:00 and TK was still asleep, lol. Took a shower and made some dinner before TH got home. I stirfried some veggies and added a can of corn, ranch style beans, and some shredded chicken. Made a pot of quinoa and mixed it all together. It was really good! TH mowed the backyard so he won't have to do it while I'm trying to sleep tomorrow. Yay! Kinda want to try to go swimming tomorrow but there's still a pretty good chance of rain. If not we'll definitely go Thursday.

July 15

Well, the bird died :-( TK texted me at work last night and said it looked like he was dead. Sigh. I guess he had some internal injuries or something? He looked ok when I left though, so I dunno. I wonder if it would have made any difference if the rescue place had been open last night and we could have taken him then. Poor little bird :-(

Other than that not much going on. Went home and TK was still awake so we played a few games of zombies and hung out with TH for a while, then went to bed. Got up around 6:00 and we worked on our little Minecraft city a little more. We added a library and a post office :-) Made spaghetti for dinner, and now I'm at work. Yay. It pretty much rained off and on all day and everything is all soggy and gross. It's good though because we really need the rain. They're still talking about a decent chance of rain for the rest of the week. I just hope we have a couple of chances to go swimming!

Sunday night again, and back at work. Eh. At least everything is back to normal. I've discovered that I don't do well with change, lol. Man, and I have got cramps like you would not freaking believe. I really hate being a girl sometimes. Sigh. They've been talking about rain all day but it never has done more than sprinkle a time or two so far. I think it's supposed to really get started later tonight and pretty much rain all day tomorrow. We definitely need it! There's a chance all week and the high temps are only going to be in the mid 90's or so. Yay!

So I went home Friday and hung out with TH for a while, then took a nap. Got up and played a few games of zombies with TK then we went swimming! His buddy was grounded so they couldn't go but we met the neighbor and her grandkids over there and swam with them for a while. The little kids are kinda annoying, but I can deal with it in small doses. So it wasn't too bad. We left the pool and went by Target to pick up a few things then when we got home the neighbor came over and hung out for a while. I did make some hummus, and we still had a little bit of salsa. She brought some pita chips. And of course, we had the gummy bears. Nom nom nom. She didn't get to stay very late because she had to go pick up her teenager when his car wouldn't start, but it was still fun! TH got home and we hung out with him til he went to bed, then TK and I stayed up for a while playing some more zombies.

July 11

Well, we ended up not going swimming again today. TH didn't feel like it so he didn't wake me up. Sigh. Definitely tomorrow, though. Supposed to meet my neighbor at the pool and swim for a while, then go back to our house and get drunk and silly :-) TK is going to see if his buddy and his little sister can go so he has somebody to play with. Might see if the buddy wants to spend the night, too. The gummy bears are almost ready. They'll probably be done enough by tomorrow night. I need to make some hummus or something, too. It should be fun! It sucks though because we're almost freaking broke again and we don't get paid again until next Thursday. Sigh.

So I basically just went home and hung out by myself for a little while, then went to bed. Got up and everyone was asleep so I took a shower and played a game of zombies. Made some brown rice, stir fry veggies, and a tilapia fillet for dinner and packed some of the extra rice and veggies to bring to work with me. I got most of the clutter and stuff that was on the breakfast bar and the table moved out of the way so the house looks a little more presentable for tomorrow night. Yay.

July 10

Bored. Unbelievably bored. Eh. So we didn't go swimming today because TH didn't feel like it. Sigh. Went home and hung out with him for a while, then slept kinda late. Got up and played a few games of zombies with TK before I came to work. At least it's Wednesday night though, so only one more night. Yay! TH did go buy a bottle of vodka for me so we got the gummy bears started today. Hopefully they'll be ready by Friday night! I forget how long it takes to make them :-/

So last night I got to talking to my patrol guy buddy who comes through every night. He said that one of their guys is leaving soon so they're looking for a replacement. I...think I might actually be interested. I'm not sure what it pays but it almost has to pay a little better than this site does. I know it's not any less, at least. He seemed to think I might be able to kinda keep the same schedule and everything. That or work 4 of the same days but 10 hour shifts and that way I would have 3 days off! I'm going to talk to him a little more tonight and see if I can get more details. It sounds like it would be more exciting than just sitting here all night staring out the window and shit. As long as I was taking classes (and actually studying), the quiet nights here were awesome. Now I'm pretty much just bored all of the time. Hmmm, it's definitely something to think about!

This whole week has been screwed up. I'm back at work after being off last night so it kinda feels like a Sunday, but it's Tuesday. So only 3 days until my weekend this week. Yay! Everything is back to normal now though, thank FSM.

So I got home Saturday and went to bed kinda early. Slept for a while then TK and I went to HEB and Papa Murphy's to pick up the pizza. Played some Black Ops 2 then cooked the pizza before TH got home. We watched Identity Thief. I enjoyed it. It was actually pretty funny! Hung out with TH until he went to bed then stayed up and played zombies with TK for a while. Didn't really do anything Sunday, just slept kinda late and then came to work. Monday I went home and took a nap, then got up and played with TK until TH got home. Made veggie burgers and fries for dinner then TH and I watched the first Hellraiser movie. Pretty fucking creepy. TH went to bed and TK and I stayed up playing zombies for a while. Tuesday morning we got up kinda early and made breakfast, then TH went to work and I took a nap. Now I'm at work. Woohoo. I think tomorrow we're going to try to go swimming, so TH can go too. Hopefully.

Not much going on tonight. So far it's been a little busy but not anything like the last few days. I guess maybe everyone is worn out and sleeping it off or something. Dunno. Whatever it is, it works for me. I am all screwed up today though because it just doesn't feel like Friday. Monday is gonna be all weird too because I won't be going to work when I normally should. Then everything is back to normal. Yay.

So I went home this morning and stayed up for just a little while hanging out with TH. Went to bed and slept kinda late, then got up and played some zombies with TK. We decided to wait until tomorrow to go swimming. Hopefully it won't be too crowded. We need to go by HEB too since we're out of freaking everything. Then we'll pick up the pizza and have it ready when TH gets home for movie night! We haven't done pizza in a while so it will be good :-) Pizza, beer, and movie night! Then video games, then sleep. Because sleeeeeep, lol.

Eh, dunno what else. I have a movie to watch but don't really feel like it. Probably just sit here with my thumb up my butt or whatever until it's time to go home :-)

Oh my holy fucking crap. And I thought it was busy last night :-/ I am going to be so glad when this night is over. I know all of the major fireworks displays were tonight so I guess that's where everyone went, and now they're all coming home. Because ho-ly fuckballs there are a lot of people out tonight. Lots of fireworks going off everywhere too, even though in theory they're illegal in the city limits and in the neighborhood I work in. Even at home before I left for work people had already started setting them off. Most of the kitties were hiding under the bed, too. They don't like fireworks either, lol.

So I went home this morning and played a few games of Black Ops 2 multiplayer before TH got up, then he watched me play a game of zombies. I got a chance to play 2 of the new maps! One of them, Rush, is set in a paintball field and the way it is laid out kinda reminds me of a cross between Studio and Grind (from the earlier map packs). The other one, Uplink, is a remake of Summit from Black Ops. It's kind of like a factory setting or something, it's hard to tell. The cool thing about it though is that it rains! But then again I am easily amused :-)

July 3

Well...I'm tired, my feet hurt, my eyes burn, and so far it has been busier than fuck at work, but I don't care. I had fun today :-) Went home and went to bed pretty early then got up and we went swimming! TK's buddy and his little sister went with us, so that was fun. We stayed about 2 hours then dropped them off and went home for a while. I stopped at Subway on the way to work to get a sandwich for later. We stopped at Target and bought some more popper thingies, and TH and TK looked at the toys. Of course they both found something to buy, lol. We actually ended up missing most of the fireworks show though. It was supposed to start at 9:30 but I got here at like 9:23 and it was almost over. So that kinda sucks. I did get to see a little bit of it as I was driving in so at least that was something. The guy here at work had invited his roomates and their kid to come see the fireworks, and the guy who set up the fish tank was here too. It was neat :-) TH and TK hung out for just a little while then headed home to play with their toys. They stopped at Taco Bell for dinner. And again - holy shit it is busy!

Tomorrow I'm thinking I'll probably go to bed a little early again if I can, then just get up and play with TK. TH has to go work the pool from 7-9 so I'm thinking about taking TK and leaving for work a little early again to see if we can catch some more fireworks somewhere. Then TH can pick him up when he heads home. Dunno yet. I found out for sure that I have to work Friday night so I'm not terribly excited about that. It's just going to make it a weird weekend because I'll work Friday, be off Saturday, work Sunday, then be off Monday. Then everything's back to normal. Oh well, lol.

Not much going on again today. Went home and stayed up later than I had planned to hanging out with TH, so I slept a little late and we decided not to go swimming. TK didn't really mind because the new map pack for Black Ops 2 came out today so he was happy to just stay home and mess with that. Got up and played a quick game of zombies with him on the new map. It's called Buried, and it's actually pretty cool. It's basically an old mining town that is (duh) buried, so there are lots of tunnels and buildings and stuff to explore. I haven't had a chance to try any of the new multiplayer maps yet. Hopefully this weekend! TH got home and I made soup and grilled cheese sandwiches for dinner. And now I'm at work. And it's busy. Sigh.

We are definitely going to go swimming tomorrow. TK is going to call his buddy and see if he and his sister want to go, too. That will give TK someone else to play with besides me, lol. Then FIREWORKS!! We get paid tomorrow, thank FSM. I will be stopping for gas on the way home in the morning. Hopefully after we pay everything this time we won't be super broke :-/

Well, I'm tired tonight but it's a good kind of tired. Went home this morning and hung out with TH for a little bit then went to bed kinda early. Woke up at 4:00, and TK and I went swimming again! Pretty much the same as last Friday. We got there around 5 and swam for 2 hours, then went home and played a game of zombies and hung out with TH til it was time to go to work. It was cooler today, only about 93 instead of the 105 that it was a few days ago. That was nice :-) The pool wasn't as crowded, either. We might go back tomorrow, not sure yet though. We definitely want to go Wednesday so TH can go, too. Then Wednesday night the clubhouse near where I work is having their fireworks show so we’ll go early and watch that. Should be fun!

Dunno what else. I’m definitely getting some decent exercise by going swimming. We actually swam a couple of laps, but then the whole time I’m in the water I’m constantly moving, too. My everything is kinda tired but I feel really good! I dunno, everything is just good right now. Well, not everything I guess, but still. I think I’m actually happy right now! It’s nice :-) Only problem is that in the very back of my mind I can’t help but think that I’m just waiting for something to go wrong :-/ I need to try to get over that.
